theASHMAN103 Burns Observer84
Griffin’s day started at $25/$50 No-Limit Hold’em against CourtStepper, but the match only lasted for five hands with griffin down $2,505.
After an hour-long break he returned to play high-stakes regular skjervoy at $50/$100 Pot-Limit Omaha, making over $21k in the 210-hand match.
For some reason, during the heads-up match with skjervoy, Griffin also sat at the absolute lowest stakes available, ¢1/¢2 NLHE, where he lost just under $3 in 26 hands.
Upping the blinds 1,000 times, Griffin moved on to a $100/$200 NLHE heads-up match against KTPOKP, losing just over $21k after 124 hands.
Down just $2,437, he then sat for the main event of the evening: Two tables of heads-up $300/$600 NLHE against Observer84. After 298 hands, and Griffin accumulating over $62k, the two agreed to step the game up to $500/$1,000, the highest stakes available on Full Tilt.
The nosebleed match lasted exactly one hour, with 345 hands hitting the books. The largest pot of the match, worth $238,995, went to Griffin, his bottom set holding up against Observer84′s combination flush and straight draw.
The second largest pot was almost a mirror image of the largest. Worth just $1,000 less, Observer84 took the pot after his top-pair held up against Griffins flush draw and single overcard.
By the end of the second match, Griffin had made over $109k at $500/$1,000, putting him up $171,841 agsinst Observer84 on the night.
Last night’s win puts Griffin up to almost $1.5 million profit on the year so far.
Below are the three largest pots from the two heads-up matches. To see more hands from the session head to our online poker stats page.

High-Stakes Action Turns to Hold’em
With the biggest names in the game absent, the high-stakes regulars looking for some action last night chose to take their seats around multiple $100/$200 No-Limit Hold’em tables.
Nosebleed veteran Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro took the brunt of last night’s losses, despite starting the day with a $23k win playing heads-up $25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha.
After a short stint both at $100/$200 PLO and Cap-PLO, Kelopuro was down just $1k moving into his first Hold’em session. But after 310 hands at a $100/$200 6-Max NLHE game, Kelopuro was doen over $15k.
Andy “LuckyChewy” Lichenberger then stepped up to take on Kelopuro heads-up, with the two sitting for 718 hands of $100/$200 NLHE.
Lichenberger took down the largest pot of the match, worth $49,595, on his way to booking a $71k win.
Stuck over $86,000, Kelopuro stuck around at Full Tilt‘s $100/$200 NLHE tables to play jungleman12 heads-up. But that match ended just 21 minutes after it started, with jungleman12 making $82,710 over 233 hands.
In the end, Kelopuro logged off down $169,883.
In addition to crushing Kelpuro heads-up, jungleman12 managed to win the largest pot of the day, worth $83,221, against David Benefield.
In total, jungleman12 took in $158,394 before the end of the day.
Benefield, who was just $43k shy of breaking $1 million in profit before yesterday’s session, lost a total of $137,194 on the day.
Also making appearances in the NLHE games were Ashton “theASHMAN103″ Griffin, URnotINdanger2 and UarePileous.
Below are three of yesterday’s largest pots, to see more hands and results from some of the other players in the game, head to our online poker stats page.
South vs. Sahamies: South Adds $128k
South’s day started at $200/$400 Cap Pot-Limit Omaha where he made just over $40k before moving on to a few hundred hands of $25/$50 PLO.
With another $21k in his roll, South then returned to the Cap game, making another $26,885 from 125 hands.
After a few hundred more hands of PLO, ranging in stakes from $25/$50 to $200/$400, South finally settled into a heads-up match with familliar rival Sahamies, beginning the session up $48,773 on the day.
After 526 hands, South had won all three of the largest pots, the biggest coming in at $227,992.
Thanks to dominating the largest pots in the session, South finished the match up $128,539. This latest win puts him up $786,986 against Sahamies since early 2008.
At the time of publication, South had lost back $19,602 to the Cap game, putting him up $157,710 on the day.
Sahamies, who had lost $65,459 at the $200/$400 Cap game before playing South, finished his day down $194,106.

MicahJ Busting up the Ranks
Starting just before February, Smith ground his 2010 profit up to $40k, staying there until just before March, before going on a violent upswing.
From March to now, he has worked $40k into over $580,000 on Full Tilt, playing everything from $25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha to $300/$600 PLO and Hold’em.
His session yesterday began with a heads-up $100/$200 PLO session against luckexpress10. Despite winning the largest pot of the day, worth $88,590, Smith was only able to make $1,638 from the 353-hand session.
Online high-stakes regular NEKOTYAN would be next to take on the up-and-comer, playing 931 hands of $100/$200 PLO in a split heads-up session. Without playing a single pot worth more than $85k, Smith managed to win $310,228 before the two called it quits.
In between the two halves of the $100/$200 session, the two also played 247 hands of $50/$100 PLO, NEKOTYAN making back just $16,635 of his losses.
After adding in half a dozen smaller matches to this total session, Smith had earned, at the time of publication, a total $303,912, ending the day as the 14th most profitable player in the high stakes games in 2010.
Perhaps this upswing is just a blip on radar. If not, a new high-stakes star may have been born over the past few months.
Below are the three largest pots from the day, to see more head to our online poker stats page.
Gus Hansen Takes the Weekend
But while years of statistics make it hard to argue, Hansen has kept himself in the black for the majority of 2010.
His weekend began with a couple of $300/$400 Cap Pot-Limit Omaha sessions, ending the day up over $121k. Then, after taking Saturday off, Sunday saw Hansen sit at $500/$1,000 with Ashton “theASHMAN103″ Griffin, making $61,504 in a short 65-hand session.
With $3,000 more profits earned today, it appears Hansen has made it through the weekend up $186,118, bringing his profits up to more than $266k on the year.
2010 has been a different story for last year’s biggest winner, Patrik Antonius. The Finn has been unable to find his footing this year, losing money almost every time he sits in the game.
Despite winning the biggest pot of the weekend on Full Tilt, worth $101,185, Antonius was only able to come out of yesterday’s $200/$400 PLO session up $38k.
The pot itself saw four players ship it all-in preflop, none holding a huge advantage on the field. It appeared all the money would have gone in regardless, after all four players connected with the 6♣ 5♦ J♦ flop.
However, Antonius was the only player with diamonds and flopped the nut flush draw with top pair.
Luckexpress10 flopped bottom set with a pair of fives and Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro flopped top pair with a wrap straight draw and a backdoor flush draw while SxMxF held the case jack for top pair.
The turn brought the 4♠, completing Kelopuro’s straight, but the 7♦ on the river gave Antonius the nuts and the $101k pot.
Unfortunately, the Finnish pro lost over $102k on Friday night playing the $200/$400 Cap-PLO game, and ended the weekend with a total loss of $64,723.
Below are the three largest pots from the weekend; to see more hand replays head to our online poker stats page.

Legal Online Poker in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire is the latest state to consider online poker and gambling as a potential way to earn revenue for a growing budget deficit.
Gov. John Lynch is scheduled to announce a plan for gambling in the State this week and legalization of online gambling is reportedly one of the options the government is reviewing, according to reports.
If he decides to support legalization of online gambling he will face stiff opposition from advocates of live gambling in the state that have already offered five potential sites for slot machines and casino style gambling.

bwin to Restart Online Gambling Site in France
Online gaming operator bwin has plans to return to the French market.
Earlier this week a bill passed through French parliament that ends the state monopoly on online gambling, poker and sports betting. The bill will effectively open the market to commercial operators.
bwin hopes to obtain a licence from the French government before this summer.
In 2006, two bwin executives were famously detained in France for allegedly violating French online gambling laws.
The pair were later released and bwin subsequently opted to suspend its French-facing website.

Dwan Gets Burned by Griffin
Known for going on massive bankroll swings, typically due to playing the toughest players in the game at the highest stakes offered, Griffin has spent the last two nights pitting himself against Dwan at $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha.
Tuesday night’s session saw Griffin lose $284k in just 32 hands before continuing on to lose another $127k to Ziigmund at the same stakes.
Last night, however, Griffin was able to find his footing against the most recent addition to Team Full Tilt, taking Dwan for $153k in a 193-hand session.
The largest pot between the two young professionals weighed in at exactly $202,000 with Griffin’s over-pair holding against Dwan’s flush draw.
The next largest pot came in at $142k with Griffin also winning the pot after flopping a seven-high straight.
Griffin ended his night up $182,530, bringing him up to around $900k profit on the year so far.
Dwan, who only played 19 hands outside of his session with Griffin, finished his night down $144,150.
Below are the three largest pots from Griffin and Dwan’s heads-up match. To see more hand replays head to MarketPulse.
Bellagio Cup Schedule More Than Just Rebuys
The sixth-annual tournament series in Las Vegas features 29 tournaments and super satellites from Jun. 25 to Jul. 16, including the World Poker Tour $10,000 championship event, beginning Jul. 11.
After a player backlash against the No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha all-rebuy format of the ongoing Five Star World Poker Classic series at Bellagio, in advance of the WPT’s $25k Championship later this month, that schedule was altered.
Attendance has also been sparse at the early events.
Now, although Bellagio Tournament Director Jack McClelland has created another schedule with several $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Rebuy events, it also includes both a $3k and $1k H.O.R.S.E. tournament, a $1k Omaha 8 event and a 2-7 No-Limit Lowball with Rebuys tournament, in addition to a number of No-Limit Hold’em Freezeouts.
For the complete schedule, click through to the Bellagio’s Poker Room website.

Dwan Takes out Ivey on the way to $887k
When asked about his 5-million dollar string of losses, mostly at the hands of unknown action player Isildur1, Dwan’s confidence never faltered.
“If anyone doesn’t think that it’s a downswing then they are welcome to cross book me in any game I play in,” he said at the tail end of 2009. “That’s all I have to say.”
If anyone was brave enough to take up Dwan on his offer, they are surely kicking themselves now, as Dwan’s profit continues to climb, rapidly approaching $5 million for the year.
The Full Tilt pro’s session began yesterday with just 11 hands of $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha against Ivey. He left up $43k, taking a 2.5 hour break before returning to the same game.
The second session between, also against Ivey, lasted 580 hands, boasting a slew of massive pots. The largest came in just under $450k with Dwan hitting a gutshot on the turn to best Ivey’s set.
After Ivey took his leave down $439k, Dwan stepped into the next installment of his ongoing $200/$400 No-Limit Hold’em battle with Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo. The 541-hand session saw Dwan make another $116,853.
After a few short Six-Max Omaha sessions, adding another $63k to his profits, Dwan sat for his final heads-up session of the night, playing just 32 hands of $500/$1,000 PLO against Ashton “theASHMAN103″ Griffin.
Though the session was short, Dwan managed to grab $283,991 from Griffin, ending his day up an impressive $887,579.
Isildur1, who had been staying away from Full Tilt this past week, returned yesterday to try and start another run at the big game. His day started strong, with a $178k profit, $93,000 coming from a lengthy 2,109-hand heads-up $100/$200 NLHE session against both KTPOKP and Observer84.
But despite the strong start, Isildur1 was unable to hold on to the majority of the cash, ending his day up just $60,595.
Below are yesterday’s three largest pots, to see more head to MarketPulse.
